EDIT: Ammy and Shiranui have undergone a large rework because I thought ther were a little too OP, being godesses that could control the world and all. Anyway, their previous posts are probably outdated by now, as of 15 May.
Hundreds of years ago, there were two goddesses, twin sisters, who were known in a small country far to the east. The younger one, was well known by the villagers for bringing good harvest every spring and healing those who were sick, and was worshipped and praised by almost everyone. She was known as the goddes of life, Amaterasu.
The older one was feared by many, known for ending the lives to those who were unloyal, and bringing about fear. However, many called to her in need when revenge was strong in their hearts, and if they were devout followers, there was a chance their call might be heard. She was known as the goddess of death, Shiranui.
However, as the years went by, people slowly started to forget about the goddesses that once formed a large part of their lives. The younger goddess was no longer prayed to, and she found that her powers were useless, as humans could now manage their crops and need not rely on gods for help. The older goddess found that she was no longer needed, as many men took revenge into their own hands, and no longer relied on divine intervention to get their way.
As hundreds of years past, they two goddesses slowly disappeared from knowledge and texts, and were forgotten, their powers slowly receding. Forced to simply sit and watch as the world went by without them, the two goddesses decided to sever their ties with the gods, coming to live on Earth as mortals, as they were no longer needed, and both wished to explore the world outside the country they had looked over.
Although the time of their reign as the protectors of their country was over a hundred years ago, they continue to bear their powers of life and death respectively to protect the ones around them. Even though they appear as simple white wolves, they are actually much more, and only those with a strong belief in them may see them as the ones they truly are.
Amaterasu: Japanese name meaning "shining over heaven"
Shiranui 白野威: means "white wild majesty"
